Sandbox announces new partnership with TIME Square

Posted by on June 29, 2022, tagged as ,

Sandbox is undoubtedly one of the great queens in the world of blockchain-based games and has just announced a new partner in the physical world, establishing a new work now with TIME, which is best known in the market for its physical magazine, but which is, little by little, increasing its presence in the online publishing market.

In this first moment, the partnership between the two giants, each in its own way, aims to build a virtual experience in The Sandbox metaverse, in which its players and users will be able to visit TIME Square in the metaverse.

This project was named TIMEPieces and is a collection of NFTs created in a fully collaborative way, bringing together more than forty digital artists from around the world and curated by TIME magazine's creative director, DW Pine.

Together, this team of artists have already launched different collections of NFTs and this precious list includes artists from the digital world and even new names in the arts made for the cryptographic world.

In his latest release, Beatclub Collection, one of the artists selected by TIME, presented a collection with different videos synchronized with custom beats created by artist Timbaland.

In addition to being artistic pieces in their own right, each of the TIMEPieces also offers some additional benefits to its owner. One of them is one of the most interesting: an invitation to different exclusive events made by TIME magazine, which is valid both for the real world and for the metaverse, where TIME Square will be created.

What is the TIME Square project in The Sandbox metaverse anyway?

In New York there is one of the most famous neighborhoods in the world, which brings with it one of the most popular avenues of all time, Times Square.

Although the similarity exists, it is worth remembering that we are talking about a TIME magazine project, which will propose an experience in the metaverse that is even somewhat similar to real-life Times Square, in which the inspiration is somewhat obvious.

With the collaboration of its community, TIME magazine has launched an open call for architects who wish to explore different experiences designed exclusively for The Sandbox.

We still don't have many details regarding what will be proposed, as the magazine has not yet revealed, but it will be possible for anyone to sign up and receive news about this public call via email.

The main objective of TIME magazine with this sensational project is to make your square in The Sandbox, in fact, a virtual destination for your community, where it will be possible to participate in different discussions and also in events that will take place in virtual spaces.

In addition, one of the objectives of the TIME magazine is to ensure that there is greater use for those who win or purchase an NFT TIMEPieces.

Because of this, there is a very clear mention of the unique experiences that users can have from the acquisition of NFTs, which can take place both in virtual spaces and in physical spaces, in events that the magazine itself may propose.

How the metaverse has expanded its participation in the real world through different partnerships

Almost weekly, Sanbox has been announcing new partnerships with famous companies and institutions around the world.

Among its partnerships, we have Adidas, rapper Snoop Dog, cartoon The Smurfs, DJ Deadmau5, as well as Ubisoft, which is finally reaching the metaverse and Web3.

Although other companies are expressively dedicating themselves to the creation of a metaverse, such as Meta – Facebook -, it is still in the Sandbox that most of the news related to this concept are effervescent and, because of that, nothing more natural than it. always become the most sought after company for the development of different ideas and new products aimed at this digital experience.

This all happens for different factors, but perhaps most importantly, it is still because the Sandbox was created on one of the main blockchains on the market, Ethereum – although it is in the process of moving to Polygon, which also inspires the market to find greater comfort in its architecture, which is quite interesting and advanced.
